Does anyone on the forum have any experience shooting a 12 gauge over/under shotgun with a bulge in the bottom barrel about 1/2 way down the barrel. Bulge is fairly even around the barrel, no cracks in the metal. Would be a shame to cut this gun down to a "shortie". Barrels are choked skeet and skeet. There is no damage to the top barrel or the between the barrels rib.
Thanks in advance.

The advice from anyone with experience shooting a shotgun with bulged barrels would be suspect, at best. My advice is: Don't do it!!

The individual who was shooting that gun when the incident occurred that resulted in the bulged barrel is very lucky indeed. Marginally higher pressures than those that occurred that day would have split the barrel wide open. That outcome could have resulted in serious injuries. To continue shooting with that gun could finish the job, with potentially catastrophic consequences. It is now flat-out unsafe. Even cutting the barrels isn't without risk - other parts of that barrel could have suffered micro cracking that you wouldn't detect with the naked eye. Your best bet is to scrap those barrels altogether, or have them professionally repaired by a competent gunsmith.
