I heard you could shoot prohibited weapons if they are still registered at ranges and aren't full auto.

My uncle owns an FN-FAL and i was wondering if it was possible to take it out and shoot it at a range.

Also, i was wondering if it was possible to pass it on to me (grandfathering) since he does not have kids but he lives in NS and me in QC.

I'd hate to see it destroyed.

Well, you could if you convince the CFO to give you an ATT.

Hahahajajajaja!

Or you could if you convince Harper to axe the CFOs and get rid of their silly policies.

prohibited firearms are not prohibited "weapons" . "firearm" and "weapon" are not interchangeable terms .
prohibited weapons include : brass knuckles , knives that open with centrifugal force , spring loaded batons , ect .

I am not trying to be offensive , just getting irritated about everyone calling them a weapon lol .

"...hate to see it destroyed..." The only way around that is for your uncle to have it de-watted(as in making it a completely non-functional paper weight). Otherwise it'll be confiscated, without compensation to his estate, and chopped.
"...possible to take it out and..." You can't be in possession of it at any time. Where you are, sometimes, matters. Certainly not in PQ. I hear(my securtity clearance is to 'rumour and inuendo only'.) that there are some ranges out west that still allow prohibited firearm shooting. Don't ask me where though.
