i know that when you shoot at different angle, there is a drop difference on the bullet but where can i find info on that. like at what distance and angle you need to compensate.

The angle and distance where you need to compensate ,depends greatly on the trajectory of the cartridge that you are using. For all practical purposes, you simply base your hold on the actual horizontal distance to the target, instead of the straight line distance to the target.

slope shots

Neat idea with the cosine...thanks for that one. In short, it does not matter if you are shooting uphill or downhill; your shot will be high if you think of the slope distance ( hypotenuse). Gravity only matters on the horizontal ( shorter distance.)

You can go high tech, and use a rangefinder that has the built-in ARC calculation.....or a rough and ready one that I have used for many years with bow and rifle. For rifle, at longer distances...just subtract 100 yards from the estimation; for bow, subtract 10 yards ( one pin less)

Yes, the purists will point out velocity and other items...but I've put meat in the freezer with that simple system...give it a try...Good hunting to you...

Velocity really doesn't figure into the problem, assuming you know your cartridge's trajectory. As stubblejumper said, the only thing that matters is the actual horizontal distance to the target (or actually to the point in space directly above or below the target).
