I put a pop can in the snow about 50 m away and blasted away at it thinking it would fall over. I got pissed off and walked over to the can and to my surprise it was full of holes. They zinged right through it.

So anyway I was wondering. Now if a man sized target at 100m would it be roughly the size of a pop can through a PU scope?

Another thing I had a howling raven muzzle brake on it and it worked great hardly any recoil. I have a tanker style muzzle brake on my other Mosin and I would have to say they are pretty close on the recoil reducing but I would have to give it to the tanker style for less recoil. But either work really well.

Next time fill the can with water. Then shoot.

What he said. I remember doing the same thing when I was younger. New rifle sighted in the week before, then demonstrating to a small audience of family how wonderful it was by shooting a pop can. 3 shots and the can didn't even wobble. I was embarrassed until I retrieved said can with a nice clover leaf of holes in it. Water in the can after that for a dramatic explosion of water and aluminum.

It will be the same if he is shooting surplus FMJs.
Happened to me whit an unopened can of club soda,
that thing didn't explode or fall over a bit. I was not happy
until I checked and saw the holes.

Soft points make a nice splash....

Haha, same happened to me last summer. We were shooting at a private property. Put couple of plastic bottles on wooden sticks at about 50m. After about 30-40 rounds I started getting pissed off at myself. Did same thing, walked over and saw bunch of holes :) Next time shoot at a can of tannerite :)

Don't be so surprised. My sks does the same thing to empty 1lb propane cylinders. They will fall over eventually, but I've put at least 5 rounds into one without it falling over before.
