shooting at home
Yes, I believe "drache" is correct. It depends on local bylaws.
Many cities and towns have local bylaws making it illegal to
discharge firearms anywhere within town limits. Outside of town,
different township laws will apply, typically related to hunting regs.
Farm-owners are fortunate, in that they are usually allowed to
dispatch pests (gophers and rats, and such), provided they don't
shoot across or near, roads or highways. Inside your house, is
not something I know about. Also, you want to have good
ventilation. At my local range, they have a massive air-filtration
system, and put down a special sticky plastic surface to grab
the lead-dust from the soles of your shoes. (And it works - the
plastic stuff gets *black* in a few days, and is then replaced.)
I was told this was due to special regulations regarding lead,
which is a seriously toxic material that you don't want to eat or
breathe.
So, you may have legal issues regarding lead exposure, in addition
to firearms discharge restrictions, if you want to shoot at an
indoor, home range. (One solution is to buy a high-powered German
air-pistol, for your home-based shooting. A friend of my did that - he
had this target "Luft-pistol", or some such thing. It was fun to
shoot, and quite legal to plink with in the basement..)
But the transition from shooting that thing, to the .45 Colt, on
the range, was a bit much..
