Can anyone provide some info for a newbie wanting to try skeet / trap or sporting clays. I live in Calgary and have a shotgun so just wanting to check the sport out. Many thanks

Not related to the thread but an observation.

The huge difference in content by 2 similarlly titled threads. One titled "shooting in Toronto" and the other titled "shooting in Calgary"

Sorry for the hi-jack, back to your topic....

Calgary Shotgun Shooting Clays

Calgary and District Target Shooters Association club have awesome Shotgun Skeet ranges. Many stations and weekly shoots. Check out the website at www.cdtsa.org or email shotgun@cdtsa.org for full details.
Club Membership prices are the cheapest in the city. We will accomodate Corporate events as well for those interested. Contact me directly.

C.D.T.S.A Shooting Range

Here's a shot of the Range. Approx 25minutes from DOWNTOWN Calgary.

Would you prefere to spend money on gas and drive for an hour? or drive minutes and have more time shooting for a cheaper price? Then Check out Calgary and District Target Shooters Association club. email shotgun@cdtsa.org

Keep watch for a MAJOR anouncement soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You heard it here first folks!!!!

Nobody here is saying "don't shoot at CDTSA". We are only pointing out all the options...;)

I myself like CDTSA as well. However, for organized trap/skeet or sporting clays it lacks. That is not a negative reflection on the club. Just my opinion...

Just like our 50 yd rifle bay is of limited value. However, it is what it is. We accept that.

Shooting Range

I understand perfectly TSE jr. My hats off to "Silverwillow", it's definately a first class range, don't misunderstand. I know lots of guys that go there and are very happy with SilverWillow's comforts.
Sincerely:

With that being said...

To all those looking for an outdoor range nice and close to Calgary, you cannot beat the CDTSA

I personally try to keep a valid membership out there as it really is a nice comfortable place to shoot.

If you live on the North Side of Calgary, the Carstairs Gun club, is a very nice trap shooting club, with two singles, and one doubles house. We shoot every Tuesday evening from April until the begining of October with very competative rates.

This is where I started and have not looked back.

Regards and all the best
