Shooting in Petawawa area

Hey guys,

I live in Chalk River and I would like to get into long range shooting competitions. I have a 300 Win Mag set up for this but I believe the range in base Petawawa is the only place I can shoot/practice/compete. Since there is Calibre restrictions on that range I guess I'll have to invest in a new rifle :). I would really appreciate any information about the competitions around my area. I would also like to take some long range shooting courses and get some advice to become a better shot.

Please help me out.

That is call social engineering... making you automatically think crisis...

I first thought that another idiot was concerned about the gunfire they hear from the base.... and how dangerous it could be for the kids.





As for your question, there are a few shooting spots around you, but most are kept pretty quiet as people like to protect their favourite spots.
I would recommend making a few like minded friends, and eventually people will share the good spots with you.

Plus there are some very knowledgeable people up there in long range precision.
