Folks from Quebec, I need your help; looks like that I will accept contract in Montreal area.

A BIG question; can I have my handguns, reloading equipment, etc., temporarily in Quebec and do some shooting. I like silhouettes, prefer ½ size, but a nice indoor range with excellent ventilation will be a nice plus, especially in winter.

Any advice, suggestion or opinion would be most welcome. Merci/thanks Onty.

You'll need a permanent residence to get a transport permit from the two CFOs. You might also get your current club(s) to issue a letter of good conduct as a way of introducing yourself to the Quebec bureaucracy. Without a history, you'll get bent over the counter and told to wait for someone to cook up every imagineable excuse.

Be aware that Quebecers are sensitive to gun crimes, and the authorities like to put the screws to the licenced gunowners as a way of showing they have things under control. Another thing about Quebec is the civil code process of, 'if it isn't written down, it is prohibited'. Which is of course the reverse of English Common Law that says, 'if it isn't written down, it is permitted'.

I took a contract in Montreal and started looking at clubs and decided that is was cheaper and easier to drive home and shoot... Between the I don't knows and the no you can't do that's I gave up....
