Is it legal to shoot over a frozen lake over to the other side? The lake will be completely frozen and it will be on Crownland that allow target practice in Ontario. Anything I have to pay particular attention to? Any suggestion would help, thx folks, and Merry Christmas to all, enjoy the holidays! Stay safe!

I see no issue with that. As said already, watch out for others in the area. In those situations I sometimes take a few shots @ a very
close (safe) target just to make noise & warn others ( you don't see) that target shooting is happening.

Hmmm, reminds me of the fellow on Shushwap Lake a couple years ago shooting tannerite across from his Provincial Campsite.
Had the wife on the camera and a set time was to start recording.
He wasnt to impressed when the RCMP showed up shortly after his voyage back from the site.
Upon a wider camera angle there clearly was a cabin very close to ground zero.

Just came in from doing that over my back pond :).

Know what's on the other side and beyond (rocks, snooping neighbors, stray dogs ect) and what your backstop is.

We have a stump that sticks out in the middle of ours, and with the rain it was great fun shooting at it. IMo, water is a much more entertaining reactive target than dirt is, any day ;)
