I know that the commercial UMC and white box ammo can be shot with a stock M-305 (as they are both dimensionally the same, it's just the chmabers that are different sizes.... right? :D ).... but what do you guys find gives better accuracy between UMC style new manufacture ammo vs military surplus?

Thanks

TRG21, you must have got a very good lot. Best it will do out of my heavy barrel is 0.9" to 2.34" at 100m (averaging 1.62"). However, with my custom SOCOM I can hit the 10" gong at 500m 3 out of 5 and 5/5 at 400m. That is good enough for its intended usage and plenty good for plinking. Can't beat the price. The bad thing for me was the salesman who sold me the ammo told me it was match ammo and when I questioned it, he swore it was. It is definately not match but still worth the pennies.

The Portuguese FMN 147 gr FMJ ammunition shoots pretty good in my Rem 700P too. Too bad the stuff is Berdan. :(
