What pouches are you using? Looking for suggestions on a decent pouch that would work shooting trap singles and doubles . Or would i be better off with a vest? Was looking at some of the Wild hare stuff but am not sure

Thanks

bob allen double pouch, for skeet, and small gauge sporting clays
use a single box beretta pouch for trap, i attach an empty hull pouch if i plan on keeping the hulls

I like a vest and have had several over the years. I prefer one with two pockets on each side so that I can carry two different shells separated with a divider on one side and maybe choke tubes and whatever else in the other side. Last fall I purchased a Wild Hare winter shooting jacket and I'm very pleased with it. It has large shell pockets and is very warm and comfortable. I also have a light weight Beretta jacket for the not so cold days. Lots of times when shooting trap in the summer I go with a Beretta shooting pouch which is a bit cooler than a vest. I've also got a Beretta mesh bag for my belt if I want to save the hulls.

I have 3 vests and 2 pouches, Spring, Summer and Fall I normally wear a vest. In the winter, because your constanly changing layers I use a pouch Beretta Single box divided Gamekeeper, if I'm trap doubles I have a Readhead divided pouch that holds 2 boxes. In vests, I have 2 sizes one that be worn over a jacket and one that works with a shirt. Only issue with a vest is making sure fits well, loose and the gun hangs up on it.

I have a pouch (somewhere) that I haven't seen in years. I have a Wild Hare vest for summer, that, if necessary, fits over a sweater or rain gear. I also have a Wild Hare winter coat that serves well down to silly cold. Both are well appointed with pockets and accept the Shock Eater recoil pad. Lifetime guarantee on them.

I also like a vest. I recently picked up a Wild Hare vest too, really like it so far. Fits well, makes the long treks loaded down with shells around the sporting clays field much more pleasant.

A word of warning, Beretta vests are not always the size that they say they are, I've seen vests marked XL that would have been more appropriately marked small! Always try before you buy or at least know what the return policy is.

Thanks for the info. Im thinking i might try a Wild hare vest. Might try one of there single pouches as well.

I always go with my vest. You'd have to sample both to know which you'd prefer. Try inexpensive options to start so it doesn't hurt the wallet when you decide on one.

They're European size. For me, I had to up 2 sizes for summer, 3 sizes for spring/fall when wearing on top of a jacket.

North American XL translates in 46 or 47 in Italian so no, I don't think so. Besides, I have another Beretta jacket that is marked L and is a slightly over sized XL by North American standards and a shooting vest that is marked XL and fits like well, an XL!
