Hello

I'm glad i came across this website as everyone here seems to be passionate about this and I hope to become an active member of the community

I have some questions as i'm completely new to guns

I'm aware of the process required to get the license however my question is do shooting ranges offer weapons and ammo to rent out or do I have to buy my own guns and ammo and bring them to the range with me?

I need more information regarding the way shooting ranges work do i have to buy my own weapons or is there a way i can still shoot around without having to buy weapon perhaps rent one instead?

I live in Hamilton Ontario

Different ranges do both. In my area of Vancouver there is one range that rents out pistols. But all the others do not store any firearms.

The other way to shoot without having a license is to shoot under the direct supervision of a licensed owner. That is in effect what is happening at a rental range. They always have someone supervising you if you do not have a license. At any other range, you have to have a friend watching over you.

Today, i am shooting with 2 beginners, got a 22 mag and a 22lr and a 308, i am pretty sure they will be good learners... JP.

I plan on getting my license soon but it will be difficult for me to buy weapons financially that is

so basically there are two ways i can go and have a go at it in a shooting range without having to buy a gun

1) i have to find a shooting range that offers rental guns

2) I have to find someone in my area that has firearms and train with him under his supervision. Any idea how i can find someone that can supervise me?

If there are any other ideas please let me know

Cheers

If you're serious about getting into the sport you're gonna want to start calling them "firearms".....not "weapons"...nitpicky, I know, but it's a good habit to develop.
