Shooting rest or bag?

Just wanted to get a few opinions on the type of rests they use. I am looking for a rest for load development but if I can find something that I use for hunting as well that would even be better. I use a Caldwell Deadshot front bag and have a small squeezable rear bag. It works not bad but like something a little more solid (that and my Deadshot bag has a hole in the top now). I have seen those tripods with the saddle but how good would they be for load development? Those fancy front rest would be awesome for adjusting your poi but not that practical for hunting. Bipods, tripods, shooting bags, saddles, bench rests, etc, as usual there is just too many options.

Yup, what's good on the bench aint always so great, or as easily duplicated in the field.

If your sighting in on a bench for loads, chose whatever the most stable and consistent option you can, try to remove as many
variables from the equation as possible. That and trigger control will yield greater differences than anything (outside of loads).

At least once you dial in something that works, you'll know it's YOU when things don't go as well as planned, haha.

I'd use the very best option I had for loads/sighting and simply accept the fact that I may not be quite as sharp in the field.

Bag with chromite sand. Ooooooh nice. Oh so stable and minutely adjustable. Heavy as f%#*
Prone or bench only, so not so good for hunting.

i bought the cheap Caldwell bags for $15USD off Amazon and then filled them with cheap kitty litter from Walmart.

Work like a damn, were super cheap, but pretty heavy to lug to range with other gear.
