Shooting Restricted rifles at home

I know that you can't shoot a pistol (restricted firearm) at home, that it must be at an approved range. But does that apply for all restricted weapons? Would a restricted rifle be allowed to fire at home? The site abides by the laws for gun shooting within the municipality (i don't live in the city). thanks

Simply bcs there is a distinction between restricted handguns and restricted rifles in the letter of the law. You should relax, nobody is putting you down, I just added some info in case the guy wants to know since he's new to the forum and all.

"...make my backyard an approved range..." Depends on local by-laws. If you live in town, forget it. If there is anybody(houses) or anything(any kind of building or livestock) within several kilometers behind your backstop, forget it. You can't use the lake as your fall zone either.
