I only use them during the winter predator season.
I started last season off with the bipod. It cost me animals. Unless I was on even ground it was a big hassle. Changing position when the yotes came in fom the flank was a ##### too.
Once I picked up the shooting sticks, problem was solved.
Easy to make and easy to use. I also use mine as a walking stick on the way in/out. Use the nails in the bottom to give your buddy a little motivation when he slows down.
I use a mono-pod as well. Light, telescopic to what ever height required and helps me hold steady for a shots out beyond 400 yards............reaching my comfort limit when shooting at game.
I have a mono pod and a set of shooting sticks. I really did not want to attach anything to my rifle (weight mainly) so I bought the M-pod last year, I used it once and didn't like it but I do plan to practice with it.
I bought the shooting sticks a few days ago when visiting SIR, I think I am going to like them. They are comapct and unfold quickly.
Ive got all sorts of Harris bi-pods, had shooting sticks but nothing compares to my snipepod I got on my last rifle. Its amazing, light , compact and great for shooting coyotes. You predator hunters should try it out.
I do prefer my Harris when Im in a gopher patch though
Bipod it is hard to forget something that is attached to the rifle, when you get to my age, they tell me the memory is the 2nd thing to go, I can't remember what the 1st is.
Also less junk to carry around the better.
