shooting table drawings/designs

tried it in the general firearms discussion but no one other than levi cared..so here it goes again. anyone out there have any drawings or links to pics or just plain good ideas for building a shooting table? i need to replace mine, thanks in advance

My father made one, not by any means the most stable, but a very portable.

It consisted of a 3/4" plywood top, whihc was cut in a T shape but with the inside corners rounded, and a simple set of folding table legs on the bottom availble at CT, Home hardware etc. It really could have been taller, but worked ok for me with a small hunting stool.

Overall size was roughly 3'X3' with the base of the T being just wide enough to accept the legs.
 
Rifle Magazine - portable shooting rest...

Hi, I picked up an old rifle magazine that had a 'field expedient' sort of shooting table. It worked fine with me...you have to be able to seat low and find a place for your legs. It is basically a 18''x30'' piece of 3/4'' plywood with 3 plumber pipe screwing attachement, 3 pieces of pipe for the leg, 2 in front and one in back (I made mine telescopic with adjustable locking like old tent pole) so there is no wobble and you can level it half decently...beats shooting prone...but not as good as a full bench rest set up. For your consideration at it is easy to build, to set up, to fold, to store, to transport...and not negligable, to shoot with!! Here are pictures of the article provided without the permission from W.S Vickerman from Rifle mag Mar/Apr 1979...so look at it only with one eye....like a target!

I have been using the Black and Deckar Workmates for years. Just bolt on an appropriate sized piece of 3/4 to 1" thick plywood. I am now using a newer style with a step. Bigger then my orig, more stable and easy to ballast down.

More then stable enough to shoot match type groups way out there.

They fold up so are portable. For around $80 to 100, saves alot of time and hassle.
