I ordered a shooting vest from an online store, learntrapshooting.ca, over 2 months later it arrived at my door. I had ordered a size 48 US (xl) and they sent me an Eurupean 48 (s). Needless to say I was very unhappy, and let them know. They told me to send back the vest and they would send out a size 48 US. So I send it back, I get the package back a week later marked "Return To Sender"!!!! I have sent them 2 emails and left 2 phone messages but no answers........you guys have any idea what I should do???

I am thinking that I havent heard from them by Monday to:

1. Dispute the credit card charge.
2. Place a formal complaint with the BBB
3. Let my lawyer deal with the rest.

Its not a matter of the $150 for the vest or the $30 RTS fee, or the 3 months that I have had to wait, but rather the fact that they said they would make it right but then didn't accept the vest back!

Some people should just suck it up and drink the purple kool aide.
There are two sides to every story and after removing my original comments I will side with the store on this one.
Suck it up buttercup and send it back, be nice and you will get your correct vest.

Hi,

As we clearly state on our e-store in more than one place, all vests are custom ordered, are custom made and ship from Italy and therefore one would expect delivery 8 weeks from the date of the order. In your particular case, the delivery was within the estimated timeframe.

Also stated on our website is the fact that all measurements are European and therefore we strongly encourage our customers to take the time to ensure they order the right size. For this purpose we provide an accurate sizing chart and invite everyone to consult it before placing the order.

Immediately after placing the order, our office contacted you via the provided email address, and asked you to verify that the size ordered is correct (our staff noticed the small size of the vest and went beyond their duty to confirm you are indeed ordering the proper size). You have failed to reply and therefore the order was placed and delivered as requested.

Our system kept you up-to-date with the status of your order, you have not replied to any of the emails.

Just later you emailed the store and complained the vest is too small.

As per our policy (as outlined on our website) custom orders are not returnable. As a courtesy and in spite of you ignoring our request to verify your initial order we offered to exchange your vest with a larger one, which we have in stock. We asked you to ship the original vest back; unfortunately according to you the vest was returned by the post office. We don’t have an explanation as to why that happened and obviously the shipping carrier is out of our control, I will however inquire.

What to do next? As far as I am concerned, we’ll again extend yet another gesture of goodwill to you and issue an RMA for you to return the vest; we will then replace the item at our cost. Please email our store and confirm the size for the new vest.

Alternatively you can return the vest in its original condition and we will issue a full refund minus S/H.

I hope this answers all your questions as far as what to do next.

We have gone well beyond normal business practice, tried to assist you in any way and as a result got bashed on a public forum after you ordering the wrong size, nice! (NOT)

Please communicate with our staff via the email provided on the website and advise which the above two options you would like to proceed with.

Regards
Florin

you got your answer now.

I will respond here as my 3 emails and 2 phone calls have not got a response:

Here is the confirmation of the order I placed:

------------------------------------------------------Order Number: 17Date Ordered: Monday 05 April, 2010Detailed Invoice:http://shop.learntrapshooting.ca/index.php?main_page=account_history_info&order_id=17 Products------------------------------------------------------1 x Alcantra (CAS.03) = $118.00Sport TrapSize 48Color 010 Black------------------------------------------------------Sub-Total: $118.00United Parcel Service (1 pkg x 0.50 kgs total) (UPS Standard, ETA: April 09,2010): $31.465% GST#: $7.47Total: $156.93

As you can see the ETA states: April 9, 2010 - this was a minor inconvenience, it might be a good idea to remove the ETA's if they are so far off the mark.

I will respond to the sizing matter in a couple of minutes.

Here is the webpage that I ordered the vest from:

http://shop.learntrapshooting.ca/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=13

do you see any mention about using the European sizing system....logically one would assume that it is the Canadian/US system as we are in Canada, I did order from a Canadian website and the website is linked to a store in Canada.....was I wrong to make this assumption?

At the bottom of the above noted webpage there is a link to the Castellani Size Chart:

http://shop.learntrapshooting.ca/docs/Clothing Sizes - Castellani.pdf

Once again there is no mention of using the European Sizing System.....nor does it say in the confirmation email (excerpt above in my previous post) that I received from you that it is European 48 that was ordered, rather it just says size 48

....I would like to exchange it for the correct one, but it got stamped RTS when I sent it back expedited mail and I haven't heard any response to my emails/phone calls so I am hesitant to send it again and waste more money in addition to the $200 I've already spent....
I am sure that you are correct that somewhere in your website there is a sentence saying that you use the European sizing system, but if it isn't on the Page that the product is ordered from or on the Sizing chart then it is futile.

Regards.

You dispute the credit card charge after you consent to the charge and posted same on a public forum? According to your post, it was you who ordered the vest. Do you think it wise to suggest doing such a thing on a public forum? So you did not get what you exactly think you ordered! Deal with it! Choice 1 is down right stupid if not fraudulent.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but have a look at this page and it clearly states

The Castellani apparel is sized using european measurement, please ensure you order the proper size. Click here for sizing chart

page reference

http://shop.learntrapshooting.ca/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=3

unfortunately it's only on the one and only page that I can find

it would be nice to have the pdf pages state that one uses the European Size when ordering and use the US/CDN for reference only, or to just use S,M,L and so on....

just my observation

It sounds like the merchant is willing to work with you, when in reality they could choose to cause you a lot of grief when dealing with it. I would just accept their offer and exchange the vest while that option is still on the table.
