Hi

Just curious if anyone has astigmatism and what effect does it have on your shooting.

I have a slight astigmatism and never really noticed it in my shooting. But when I shoot with a red dots like the aimpoint it give me a bloom that looks almost like a bunch of grapes in the reticule. I have read about it and some suggest that high-quality prismatic optics both with and without magnification might help.

Has anyone any opinions or experience that an prismativ sight might not exhibit the issues or at least make them less noticeable?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Apparently I have slight astigmatism.... Just had my eyes tested last week.

Doesn't affect my shooting at all, though I haven't used an aimpoint in quite a while

I have it and noticed it a bit with my Eotech. Mostly in low light but outside in the sun I never was bothered by it.

Do you guys wear glasses to correct your astigmatism and still experience negative effects? Now really used to holo sights and red dots, and looking to buy my first one for the ar... I 'd like to knownif I'm going to blow 600$on an optic that wont work for me (I wear glasses and my astigmatism is taken care of with my lenses).

I also have slight astigmatism and it is most noticeable with an EOTech.
Since changing my glasses which corrects for my astigmatism I no longer notice it.

Contact lenses correct my astigmatism but eotechs were the only ones that gave me trouble. That said, I haven't had the oportunity to try one since my perscription changed.

I have some, but also wear glasses now. Prismatic scopes will help a lot, actually good ones are the bees knees (you'll need ocular focus), but good reticles are hard to find. (ps look at primary arms). If you don't have or need glasses, you can try some of those super low magnification reading style glasses. You can do some focus and eye movement exercises that will help.
