Rifle Poly M305, 45ACPKING build with all USGI parts , including Winchester barrel. -6 degrees , Hirtenberger Berdan ammo, best group I've ever gotten. First shot flier either the M14 flyer or I wasn't paying attention yet?

4 shots touching, 1 flier, best I've ever done with Hirtenberger. I found my other 305(USGI bolt, trigger group), also built by 45ACPKING was shooting better than average , got 1.75" group with some 45year old Santa Barbara grungy green ball. I was doing some serious load testing so no more pics of M305 groups.Besides it was sorta cold. Any reason both rifles seemed to shoot a bit better with this old ball ammo at lower temperature? Seriously, had fewer fliers and tighter groups than I have ever gotten with these lots of surplus ball. I'd never been impressed with the Hirtenberger before. The Santa Barbara 1978 vintage was always very good but it's beginning to show it's age, so I just gotta shoot it up.... dirty job but somebody has to do it.

Got this group at 500yds with my AI, 185gr Juggernauts:), couldn't go out to 600yds, snow too deep.
