HI
I am new into this game. Currently looking to buy belt and holster for BB course. Any recommandation for these 2 things ?
I have a shadow and G17 g4. any holster will fit both model or i should go buy their own model ?
how about the belt ? any model belt is good ?

thanks

An inner/outer belt combination is the standard. Brands to consider include Double Alpha, CR Speed, and Safariland, among others. Those same companies will also sell you 'race'-type magazine pouches, and you'll want at least three pouches. Advantages of an inner/outer belt combination include relative stiffness and efficiency of donning and doffing, because you can just keep all of your gear mounted on the outer belt, semi-permanently (rather than threading them over belt every time).

While you can get holsters that would work with both Shadow and G17, they wouldn't be the best choice for your application. You'll want to buy pistol-specific holsters. There are many to choose from, but I'll recommend the Blade-Tech Classic OWB.

As stated above the Velcro inner/outer belts are great, can't really go wrong with any brand CR Speed/DAA/Bladetech etc.

As for holster and hanger. I would recommend the BOSS Holster hanger and holster combo. Great holster and the hanger is all aluminum with lots of adjustability to set up how you like it. Buy once cry once.

Do you have magazine pouches already?

I'd say start with bladetech holster and mag pouches. They are great quality and if you do ever decide to move up to a race holster, you can surely sell the bladetech easily.

You probably want at a minimum, 4 mag pouches, most ppl run 5 or even 6. You will also want to have at least 6 mags, if not more like 8. Belt - pick an inner/outer that fits.

Make sure you get one of those shirts with the brands all over it that makes you look like you are sponsored. I hear they make you shoot faster and add +3 points to your Look Cool Factor.

Also, you need more Mags.

And I would like to echo what one guy said already, get a holster that is specific to the gun. There is not a lot of variation in the critical dimensions of most pistols, so universal holsters are getting better, but given you plan to compete, there is no need to trade performance for the sake of saving a few bucks. Holsters are kind of like shoes. You will end up owning many of them depending on what kind of training/shooting you want to do. You can't go wrong with the bladetech, and even if you do upgrade you will probably never see the need to sell it.

I probably own an average of 2 holsters for every pistol I own, and the ones I shoot most its more like 3 or 4. Holsters may seem expensive, but if you seriously dive into this sport, it will be nothing compared to what you will spend on ammo.

Lastly, buy ones cry once is something you need to live by. Every time I have gone cheap, I have ended up upgrading anyways, and in the long run you spend more money and only suffer through the cheap stuff.

I got all my gear at ghost USA.
You definitely need at least 5 mags with pouches.

I watched a couple of guys running 3 mags. It was a very sad thing to watch ,when they couldn’t finish the course.

I’ve been practicing diving and shooting at the same time, it cut my time down drastically.
I’m gonna add in a couple of barrel rolls soon.

Have fun, it’s a blast
