If you had the above what would you build.

I got my quote back and I will be starting to build a 6.5x47 Lapua. By the time I get all the parts ect. it should be built and shooting by next spring. What would you build?

What WOULD I build, or what HAVE I built many times on R700's with 308 bolt faces?

My first choice would be a 6BR, as would my second and third choice. Come to think of it, so would my 4th. 5th would be a 6X47 Lapua

6.5X47 oooor 6X47.

I'm in the process of trying to make this decision based on a 700 action S/A.
I'm leaning towards the 6X47. This will be a heavy barrel under 17.5lbs overall, for 1000 Meters competition.

Since F-class does not permit mag feed, only single shot (but you can still use a mag-fed rifle as a single-shot) the issue is moot. Depends on what sort of 1000 yard competition.

If you asked me what I thought of 6X47L a month ago, I'd have told you to save your money. Having just discovered what that round can do with Vihtavuori N560, I can tell you it is a phenomenal cartridge!!!

SO Mark, have you bought yourself a Grady White yet???

The 6X47 Lapua is a huge success, just go to 6mBR or benchrest central and does well out to 600 millimeters(meters?). Time for a vacation and I'll get you bigstickpilot!

I mentioned the 6.5X47 L held a 600 m record - not sure if this still holds, but was recently on the 6mm site and certainly is good to go.

Best regards,

Peter
