i was lookin at getting one of these in a 20 inch barrel.the ruger 77 22 or the magnum would be interesting .main use would be grouse hunting .i have a 22 rimfire now with a 24 inch barrel.something more compact would be better.opinions and ideas.
That was exactly my thoughts also but I hesitated in recommending that because he seems to want a shorter barrel and most of the CZ's seem to have a longer barrel like 22.5 and 28 inches unless you go with a heavier Varmint model or maybe the CZ 513 Basic or CZ 452 Scout.
I've had a few 77/22's,they all worked and functioned perfectly.....they are nice handeling and comfortable to use...they are a bit pricey as compared to others out there for sure, but they are still plenty accurate enuff for popping grouse
I had a 77/22 that I passed on to my son(thought I might quit shooting) and have missed it ever since. The previous owner had done a good job on trigger and made it a treat to shoot. I replaced it recently with a CZ 452 Varmint and now the only thing I miss is the rotary mag, and not very often at that. Was concerned about plastic mag that came with rifle but have found it to be very pleasant to load and funtions perfectly. You would be happy with either of these (big diff in price to consider)
