Hello all,

I am not much of a shotgun guy, but I love my milsurps and oldschool wood n' metal shotties.

A friend of mine brought up that back in the day, in the WWII era, it was popular to cut down, re-bead and even re-choke semi auto shotguns...HOWEVER, they had to be recoil operated as the gas operated ones would not work if cut down.

A long time ago I owned a cut-down Remington 11-48, and I loved it. Sadly I sold it, and since then I have been wanting to get another recoil operated shotgun for skeet/bush work.

Thus, I'd like your help to compile a list of semi-auto shotguns that are recoil operated, (or a gas op one that can be shortened to legal limits without loosing it's semi auto functionality), and rough price-point.

I'd like only to make a list of 12 gauge, 2 3/4" (12X70mm), or larger (3" etc)

Thanks, and I'm curious as to what models people come up with!

If your a milsurp fan then you really want a Remington model 11 which was a browning auto five built for the US military by remington. there were a few models, 3 shot , 5 shot, 21inch barrel, 21 inch with a cutts compensator, and even long barrel models for skeet.

OH looky how does one cut a A5 so sad :(

Some yung whipper snapper down south did one up and it was decent.
Mag tube extension and a good description as to what would work for barrel length
to make the harmonics spit spent shells out.
I saved the thread and it disappeared.
I was going to do one up like it for camp defense.
Had a spare barrel et'all and then changed me mind.
