"Short" Barrel Over Unders

Not sure if this should be here but the hunting and sporting shotgun guys scare me.

I have been pondering a coach gun for carrying around scouting. For shooting the occasional grouse, berry picking, defending my stage coach from brigands etc.

I'm also interested in over unders. In my experience they half ass regulate slugs, at least at "bear defence" distances. And will enable me to live combo gun/ euro trash double fantasies with slug and shot in different barrels.

So while I would really like to get a FAIR or Franchi slug over under, I'm thinking Turkish is more in my current budget.

Looked at a stoeger outback, too chunky. Mossberg over unders are an option.

Curious about opinions on the kral Tundra tac? I have also seen another kral offering with sights.

I had a huglu ventus woodcock which was perfect for what I'm going for, but I can't find any.

Looking for suggestions for other makes of over under with sights and shorter than normal barrels (nothing below 18.5).

Extra points if they have sling swivels.

just for last turkey season i got the churchill 206 HD,12 ga, auto ejector,20 inch barrel,since i am using it for turkey i remove the 2 front rails not needed for turkey,i can mix the chokes for turkey i put an extra full and a mod if they come in very close,i will be using it also for small games,i install a red dot on it,and churchill sell barrels extention for the shotguns i just never saw any yet,good quality for the price at $1000,and i was in the us this summer and saw that mossberg make the silver reserve in 20 inch all camo for turkey but there not in canada yet.

I was thinking of something similar a few years ago, to satisfy the break action itch and the Mossberg Maverick hs12 was what caught my eye. I ended up buying a Cooey84 of a friend with a short and long barrel but the hs12 would check all the boxes for me, shorter oal and barrels, pic rail for a rds and rifle style sights, threaded for chokes.

I like the all blacked out look as well, yes it’s made in Turkey but seeing as it’s Mossberg parts availability should be fine if you had something break.

Well I ended up getting one at swamp donkey. A kral altes "slug gun".



Couldn't afford not to buy it at the price, and it has swivels.

Should hold me over till I can afford a eurotrash over under double rifle.

I'll report back.

Will it be a diamond in the rough that punches double rifle sized groups like my huglu at 50m? Unlikey, at least it sure won't look good doing it.
