The Dlask boys are prolly too busy to answer questions from a tire kicker so I figure I would ask here.

Can I get the 12.5" choked shotty in the 8.5" configuration (the really-really short stock)? (no catchy name yet for that puppy huh?)

The 8.5 is just a bit too short for me. I would like the 12.5 inch choked barrel, so that once it gets around to bird season, I can put a regular 870 stock on it and use it. My 18 inch 870 is still a bit long in my Jeep. The 12.5" would be perfect.

I know its legal to use the 8.5" short stock configuration for hunting...I just want the best of both worlds and interchange the stocks as I deem fit.

Is there any problem doing this?

Thanks in advance

I can't help you with your question, seams that people around here don't like questions being asked about the legality of things. Thread recently got locked because people were asking questions.

Your best bet would be to put this in the Legal forum

8.5" is not legal for hunting, read hunting regs. 12.5" is still far too short for bird hunting unless it's close range..... Ducks and geese forget it.

If you had a firearms manufacturer build it, it gets successfully verified, then I don't think there would be an issue with it.. You should be able to swap between pistol grip and solid stock no problems.. but not a folder as far as I understand it.

BC didn't make the rules, except for BC, the last time I checked.

And who says the 12.5" is too short for bird hunting?

All shotguns should be patterned, period.

:shotgun:

Dlask is not doing custom orders for this shotgun right now as they are too busy just making the 8.5 barrel models right now.Maybe after the demand dies down you can get a modified version but for now its no go.This info is posted in the dealer section for info on ordering one from them..
