Anyone know of a sub 8.5" overall length 1-4x? or even a fixed power 3 or 4x?
Trying to regain my stripper clip guide with a choate mount and still have adequate eye relief.

Sorry for reposting this. I asked in optics but only got one suggestion.

there are lots of options, but your going to be looking at 3 to 4 times the cost of your sks.

Personally i would look to something like a Vortex strikefire that is a 1 power but has a screw in 2 power. u may not get your 4 power (only half of it) but the cost to run to get something for it will drop alot

I used a leupold 20mm

Hi sAdam,
On one of my SKS rifles I used a leupold 2.5x 20mm scope the VX1 i think. I can double check if you want. It is short enough to use strippers. It is true the price will outstrip the cost of the rifle but I explained that away by telling myself good optics never go to waste since you can put them on other guns when you need them. My enabling shooter buddies agreed heartily!

I used a 4x leapers but after around 200 rounds something let go inside and started to roll around. I think it was a prism or something. My buddy thought that was because of the rearward recoil from the round and the forward recoil from the bolt slamming back in place. Said lower end scopes won't tolerate that treatment.

I have a 4x fixed Leapers scope on mine and have had no issues as yet. When I bought it I was told that it was the variable power scopes that they had had the most problems with. The fixed power seemed to be OK.

The cross hairs are a bit wide for my liking but it allows me to use stripper clips and see the target through my progressive lenses.
