short scope for sks?

hi, got the choate mount on my sks, and and put a bushnell banner 1-4x on it. works great but, i would really like something that will allow me to use stripper clips again.

want 1-4x , prefer non-illuminated.
must be under 8.5" overall length

does such an animal exist?

I had an NC star tactical scope on my sks that would allow use of stripper clips but I found the scope and new spring cover I had to use to be very unnaccurate. Never held its zero.

I bought a Barska 4x28 IR Electrosight. It has a built in rail mount and does not hang over the edge of the Choate mount. I know you didn't want an illumitated sight and I didn't really either but I wanted something, like you, that didn't block the use of stripper clips.

I installed it at the back of the mount so the front of the scope is just short of the mount edge. Eye relief is good.It was a low priced scope, $110 at Cabelas.

I have sighted the rifle in for 100 yds, but I barely had enough elevation. We'll see how it goes.
