I am looking for a short scope setup for my M14 mostly to save weight and to provide best balance for a variable 4x or better 6x optic. I have also been trying to identify this one as shown but I'd like to hear your opinions on the various short scope options available. Pictures and links win you bonus points. Thank-you.

Could it be a US optics scope?

By 4/6x, do you talk the top magnification or do you mean how many times the variable power?

Beside it's size, don't you have other requirements? Price range?

Weight, power and size in that order. Top mag.. Thanks for the reply but I am not sure if it is a US Optics scope...no price range. I remember seeing some Russian short scopes in 6x, but I forget brand/availability in Canada.

A fixed 6x? You don't need a variable power?

If your only concern is weight you could get a MRD (mini red-dot).
Your search looks a little strange. Did you define your needs correctly?

The shortest scopes are usually 1-4x. Check Burris, Leupold, NightForce, ShmidtBender.

Elcan are shorter but too high for the M14.

Yep yep

Nightforce 2.5-10x24 are really hard to beat, and equally hard to find. Same size as the 1-4x24, but more power if you don't need to clear rooms with it.

The best of them all -
Dont know why its out of production -
Luv mine with the big game reticle on my RFB, Perfect for cqb and peta revenge - w:h:

I have been thinking about trying one of those Russian PU scopes from Westrifle they can be mounted very low to the rifle.
Besides, it doesn't work out on my M 14 I can always mount it on one of my other rifles
