I got a chance to buy one of these in the US pretty damn cheap, which makes it worth all the wait, paperwork and hassle to get it here.
The person selling it does not know what receiver it uses, other then it's a Baikal mag fed shottie to start.
Any Baikal shotguns on the prohib list??

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Barrel length and mag cap are what I am thinking of...
16" with a 10 rounder underneath?
As it sits in the above picture.. how long is the overall length?
less than 26 1/2 inches?

Its a pump Hoochie, there is no minimun length on a factory barrel for a pump. The same goes for mag capacity, the restrictions you are thinking of apply to semi auto's. The overall length of 26-1/2" does apply though and I think it looks to be under that by 5 or 6".

It's way under 26", so it'll be restricted when it arrives, but no problems other then that. Can someone let me know which model Baikal shotgun it might be based on? It'll help having it's FRT # (which I can look up).

Thanks.

I'm wondering how smooth or easy this "handle-style" pump is compared to a conventional type? On the other hand, who f#!@ing cares?

The US will not allow export of short barrelled SGs (barrels less than 18") unless for police or military use. Check with the Canadian distributor who likely gets products directly from Russia.

I think Redleg's on the money on this one; shotguns with a barrel shorter than 18" are NFA items in the US, and they won't currently allow their export.

Hmmmm. My latest Krinker Plinker with 8" barrel was NFA in the us, but it only took three weeks to get an export permit for it, that was only a month or two ago. I can't see why NFA shotguns are treated differently then NFA rifles... hmmm.

Did you not order a kit? I doubt you got the entire gun approved, but even so, it was an exception and not the rule. I'm not saying don't try, only don't get your hopes up.

I know this is true, but do you (or anyone else) have an official reference for this. I would like to print a copy and put it in my shotgun bag.

Thanks.
