so im thinking about dropping my 10/22 to about the 15" mark and just putting a little brake on it.. just curious if dropping it below that 16" mark ( so there is less than 1 complete rifling twist before the bullet exits the barrel ) is going to effect the accuracy noticeably ?

its just getting done up tacticool.. so its not a target rifle by any means, but i want to maintain some accuracy

Chopped mine to 12.5". But you already knew that :) It won't effect accuracy. If anything it will probably improve it. I reckon it helped mine. Plus with a can on it's perfectly balanced.

Yeah,... It'll ruin the accuracy not having one full rotation before the barrel sends the wee one off.

...I doubt there is a pistol in Canada that gets one full rotation.

Chopping the barrel will not affect rotation OR accuracy... regardless of the length of the tube, once you start the pill spinning it keeps on going... otherwise you would need a 150' barrel on a 50 yard target... now THAT'S PBR!
