I bought a Winchester Model 70 Extreme Weather SS with the Bell & Carlson stock and I find it's too long for me. I would like to have the stock shortened but I'm not sure if there would be enough "meat" inside the butt end of the stock to properly re-attach the recoil pad. I've looked at injection molded stocks on other rifles and they're difficult to shorten. Can anyone here shed a little light on this, if they've done it before?

Thanks,

You need to find out if the stock is solid in the first place. Not all synthetics are. They're not all fibreglass either. Bell & Carlson stocks are solid according to their web site though.
How long for you is it? It might be better to replace that stock. You can sell it to offset the cost of the new one. In any case, like blargon says, epoxy will work just fine.
