Does anyone make one for the 9mm version.I think the gun looks rediculous with that long barrel.I have the chance to buy a slightly used one but just can't get over the look with that short hand guard and long barrel

I agree it looks a little disproportionate with the long barrel, but once u start shooting it you may not care! I haven't seen any factory barrels, but Epps is the CDN importer for JR, and they could probably cut down a barrel for you and facilitate the reclassification to restricted if required.

Many place longer front hand guards/rails on to change the proportions, another option is to cover the barrel with what looks like a suppressor. As HeavT stated reclassification would be required taking away one of the best aspects to the JR that being it's Non-Restricted status. You may find that the looks grow on you, I had my JR's barrel threaded for a flash hider and added an A2 birdcage which seemed to help alleviate the long barrel proportional look somewhat.

Remember that the original barrel cannot be cut to less than 18" without the carbine becoming prohibited.
If you want a restricted, short barrelled version, rebarrelling would be necessary.

yes I want one but not to shorten, mine is the old style, it has issues feeding the chamber was changed on the newer ones, it would be easier to change the barrel than try to get mine reworked and with a new one it would most likely be threaded on the end

I'd contact JR if you need a barrel, they may be able to help somehow.

For shorter barrels, seeing how they don't even have a gas port, they shouldn't be hard for dlask or someone to make, eh?

not wanting to cut anything off, the one currently is old style, I have done many upgrades to resolve feeding issues but it constantly slams the bolt on the side of casing, my guess is the barrel chamber area has a sharp edge on the top and this is preventing the bullet feeding into chamber, I want to chamfer the barrel but its not reversable so figured maybe picking one up used, with luck be a new style but worst case if the chamfer does not work I can still use the original one

So it has a 19" barrel now, I suppose an inch can be lopped off?

18.5-18" would make it restricted, so not even an inch can go.

JR can't ship barrels direct to you, but they bend over backwards for customers so they might send one to a canadian dealer, just for you.
And they might know exactly what the issue is.
I bought my JR used, told them this, and so far they sent me two packages for my rifle, to help get it into the current generation reliability.

Tom at JRC sent me specs on what to do with the chamber to get it to feed properly. Needed a 30 degree cone...which I had Joe at Dlask do for me. It's a straight forward operation that any decent gunsmith should be able to do. That, along with the new feed ramp, buffer, and buffer spring that Tom sent me, fixed the feeding issue in my .45 for good. Give them a call first before you drop money.
