So, took my 'new' M14 out for a bit today, thought I'd share some pics.

Purchased this bad boy used from a great forum member, it was M14 Doc tuned and I am pleasantly surprised at the results.

I'm using Norc Surplus ammo, and shooting from a table with impromptu rest (range bag w/ folded sweater over it). So naturally it isn't a 1 MOA bragging thread but this is the best group I've shot with it yet and for iron sights with my poor vision in my shooting eye I am really really happy with it.

Annnnd. The sweater I was using as a makeshift rest took some damage lol. I guess when I was shooting it shifted back and I wasn't paying attention :p

But anyway, my first battle rifle and it is a ton of fun. Gonna be using it for some deer and maybe moose this season if I am around.

I'd be happy with that group. I put a scope on mine and had a good news bad news experiance. Turns out my rifle shoots 3 MOA at best, bad news. The good news is I can therefore shoot with irons pretty well.

Love the range. I can't wait till the pill junkies across the street depart (could I be so lucky?). Once I have reasonable people across the road I have 600 m of backyard range in the powerline corridor that runs behind my property.

Nice rifle and range setup you have ...too bad about your sweater , did you notice the grouping on the paper mayches your sweater !!

Hehe. I believe the battle dmg is just from one shot with the muzzle right above the fabric, maybe two shots.

I'm in Northwestern Ontario, the Rainy River district. I lived in Winnipeg for 7 or 8 years previously and moved back here last year for work. It is actually my father's awesome property that I have the fortune to use for shooting. Didn't realize how much I missed it since moving back.
