Are you sure about that cause this dominion arms grizzly (check the URL) has a 8.5 inch barrel. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm fairly certain a non-restrict firearm is required to have an overall langth of 660mm or 25.9842 inches to be non-res. unless theres somthing I'm forgetting.

Yes, for a semi automatic to be non restricted it must have a 18.5" barrel. A pump shotgun or any non semi-auto firearm can be shorter.

Just to clear it up, here is the actual definition of a restricted firearm from the CC:

“restricted firearm” means
(a) a handgun that is not a prohibited firearm,
(b) a firearm that
(i) is not a prohibited firearm,
(ii) has a barrel less than 470 mm in length, and
(iii) is capable of discharging centre-fire ammunition in a semi-automatic manner,
(c) a firearm that is designed or adapted to be fired when reduced to a length of less than 660 mm by folding, telescoping or otherwise, or
(d) a firearm of any other kind that is prescribed to be a restricted firearm;

470mm is 18.503". All centerfire semi's must have a barrel longer than 470mm to remain non-restricted. Non-restricted manual action centerfires (bolt, pump, lever, etc.) can have any barrel length (as long as the barrel was manufactured at that length and not cut down to it) as long as they are longer than 660mm (25.98") in their most compact firing form.
