I mounted the 6.5-20x50 Conquest on my 1907 repeater last night, and this morning I shot it for the first time. My very first five shot group at 50 yards was right around .300", and the following groups averaged better than that, with a best of .210". The worst group fired was about .400", but most were in the .2" to .3" range. I was using SK Standard Plus loads, so I am hoping for even better accuracy with better quality ammunition. The good thing is, that the gun will shoot decently with affordable ammunition. The groups below are all five shot groups ,fired at 50 yards. I shot two 110 yards groups, that measured from .750" to .900", and both displayed some vertical stringing, that I am hoping will be lessened with better quality ammunition. The gun fed from the magazine just fine, but in 10% to 20% of cases, the case was extracted, but not fully ejected. I have ordered a couple of spare extractors, and springs, to use to try some modifications that supposedly cure this issue with the Anschutz repeaters.

Nice looking rifle, good groups too. Here's another cheap ammo you might want to try if you can find it here in Canada, Federal Gold Medal Target 711B. It should be less than $5.00/ 50. Here's my best group from a couple of weeks ago with an Anschutz 54 Match action and a Lilja 26" barrel. This ammo groups in the low .200" or less if I do my part.

I have used some 711B loads in the past, but I haven't seen them in stores lately. I buy my SK Standard Plus buy the case for just under $500 per case, and still have a few thousand on hand, so that is why I tried them to start with. I was shooting on the wooden rimfire tables today, and I am confident that with a little more trigger time, and shooting from the concrete benches on the regular range, I can get groups under .200" even with the present loads.
As well, I am expecting a case of supposedly higher grade RWS loads later this month, that is being sold on special for very little more than the Standard Plus loads, so I will see how they do.
In any case, I am quite pleased with today's results, I have yet to shoot a more accurate rimfire, and I am thinking that finding a more accurate rimfire repeater won't be easy.

That's some great shooting.

The RWS Championship Edition is hit and miss. I've had good luck with some rifles and stringing with others.

The Fed 510 (Standard Velocity blue box) performs 80-90% of what 711B does, at 2/3 the cost, in my experience.

Nice looking gun too!

The RWS load that is on the way, was supposedly made for practice ammunition for a previous world championship. A Canadian supplier bought up all that RWS had left over, and since it was a special load that they no longer make, the price was very reasonable. The ammunition apparently originally sold for over $8 per box, and it is now going to be sold for less than $600 per case.

Yep, that's the Championship Ed from the 2009 or 2010 worlds. Only complaint is that it will drop a low flyer occasionally. Otherwise it can group well. It's repackaged Match Rifle for the event as far as I heard. Its not necessarily a unique product, rather just limited edition packaging. Comes in a cool looking yellow box. Peter is a fantastic resource for the rimfire crowd in Canada- top notch!

It sounds like we are talking about the same RWS ammunition. As it is, the SK Standard Plus, works well for me at 50 yards, but seems to have a bit of a tendency string them vertically at 100 yards. If the RWS reduces that effect for very little extra cost, I will be satisfied. If not, I will likely try SK Rifle Match.

I tried a lot of SK Rifle match in the 1411 I have and a Target Varmint Wildcat (which is an incredibly frustrating rifle- it shoots with the Anschutz for $1000 less)- the Rifle Match was decent- a little better than Standard Plus, but it still drops the occasional shot. Even Eley match tosses one high occasionally. This is using a 'minimal contact' firing position, pinching the trigger instead of using a handhold on the grip.

All in all, the trip to 100 is mighty challenging for the 22LR family. Especially now in the summer, when micro variations in air currents (micro thermals) along the length of the range can bounce a bullet around somewhat on its way to the target. Granted, I'm talking about chasing groups to ridiculous standards for rimfire, but, that's where the fun is!

Can you show us a picture of the bottom of the stock where the magazine goes in? Does the stock have an accessory rail?

I love my 1913. :D

they are not common, special order only I do believe, and have been discontinued. Not cheap either, retail for just a hair under 3K. Stubble got a great deal.

Actually speaking to Peter at Target Shooting Products, he may have another new one available soon, for close to the price of single shot 1907 with a similar stock..

I have my name on one, asked for it months ago, and waiting for it to be built, another blue one like the op's. I do believe anschutz only has a few actions left. Just waiting for the stock to be built.

Hopefully yours will eject empties reliably, I am waiting for the parts to try to fix that issue with mine. I must say, that I do like the 15moa rail that came with the gun. It fits nice, and the clamping system doesn't mark the dovetails.

It better eject empties perfectly or its getting fixed pretty. No excuse for not ejecting. Heck my 50 year old target rifles still eject without any trouble whatsoever, surely technology has improved not worsened.

Is this a well known problem with this rifle or is it unique to yours?

My 54 Match ejects perfectly, but the repeaters use a different bolt than the single shot match rifles. Most of the Anschutz repeaters do not reliably eject empty casings 100% of the time. It is an ongoing issue that Anschutz has never bothered to fix. At least the fix is supposedly cheap and easy to do.

Simply installing new parts won't cure the problem, but a little filing supposedly will. I ordered two new extractors, and three spring clips, so I have spares to experiment with. The extractors are around $7 each, and the clips around $3 each. The procedure is below.
