I finally got some reloads up and running for my Targetmaster in 45. After some tinkering around with various components and loads, I finally got a winner! I was sitting, two handed, and the gun was resting on the table. Oddly enough, the group I shot immediately before while using a sandbag was a bigger group. Go figure... I'm 95% of the way there on this load, I need to add another point or two of a grain so that my slide stays open on the last round. Then it's sight in time and see if I can get a target for the 25m CGN challenge :)

Wow. Awesome shooting. You are making me miss my Range Master. (Which isn't to say I think I could achieve those results)

Looks to me like the Range Master is a 1" shorter Target Master. How'd you like the accuracy on it?

What components and powder did you use? STI rules :) 25M is a long way

STI has definitely impressed me thus far :) Here's my recipe:

Federal brass
CCI 500 primer
4.3gr Titegroup
Bullet Barn 200gr SWC
*I need to up the powder a touch to get the slide to lock back on the last round. I also got 1 stovepipe on the last round of a mag out of the 25 rounds I loaded.

I hate to rain on your parade but one good target does not prove or disprove the load. The fact that your group from the target immediately before this one was much larger suggests that. When you can produce targets like this one three, four and more times in a row THEN it will show that you, the gun and the load are all working consistently well and that you can THEN trust the targets to indicate what effect the ammo load truly has on the results. But when it's only one tight group among a line of more open groups on either side of it then it may just be a case of all your shaky shots happening to shake towards the middle for that one specific group of shots.

On the other hand if you were only shooting 5 or 6 rounds of a variety of loads then it does suggest that this load is worth trying to perfect.

Nice! I will definitely steal your recipe to give a try on my 45s.

Too bad you can't pass my club's entry test though with this because the requirement is 10 round on a letter size paper. with grouping like this, no way they can count how many are actually on the paper. Lol..

I completely agree, the group shot immediately before had an excellent group with 3 holes touching and the other two very near by. I immediately felt better when I outstretched my arms completely and rested the gun on the table while shooting the group pictured.

I bumped up my loads to 4.6gr Titegroup, and my group opened up a bit to approx 3" at 30m. I'm going to give it a second try since it was a monsoon out today with the rain blowing sideways and wasn't the best conditions to try and group well. Oddly enough, I had a fair bit of FTE, far more than I did with the lighter loads! Not sure how that works.

Didn't I tell you that it was a tack driver. BTW, don't listen to the rain cloud, I hate those ...... ......... .......:p:p that gun will shoot that group all day long, I know it will, I did it:p Wynn, pm me you phone number, I may have some goodies for it. As for holster, good luck, it's not really holster friendly, high front sight and the amby safety gets in the way.

The good and bad news about being a tack driver, I can't blame the gun any longer! I admire the guys who shoot in all weather conditions, but I have to admit, I'm a fair weather shooter haha. I never thought about the high sight and ambi safety, good to know before I splurge on a holster that won't work. PM inbound.
