SHOT SHOW 2013 Report: Steiner Riflescopes

Steiner, usually known for their ruggedly built binoculars have recently gotten into the riflescope game.

They now offer 7 models:

• 1-4x24mm 30mm tube
• 3-12x50mm 34mm tube
• 4-16x50mm 34mm tube
• 1-5x24mm 30mm tube
• 3-15x50mm 34mm tube
• 5-25x56mm 34mm tube

I took a look at the 5-25x56mm and 3-15x50mm Scopes.

The 5-25x56mm is their top item in their lineup with some more premium features. The turrets click a little better than the 3-15 and it has a feature displaying elevation turns to show beyond one full turn.

I took a short video showing the 2-25's turret system.

MSRP for the 5-25x56mm is USD $3699
MSRP for the 3-15x50mm is USD $3439

Not cheap

The MSR Reticle is a cool but some may find it a bit busy. It is illuminated and rather than just placing a dot over the centre of the crosshairs, they have illuminated a portion of the entire reticle, hashmarks and all. It is very crisp light. I managed to get my iphone lens in the right spot to get an idea:

Nice, great stuff by Steiner...I own a pair of there binos...if they make there scopes as well as their binos they are definetly worth looking at.

We have some of their binoculars on our ship and use them all the time.

I would say that their riflescopes are actually much better than their binos.

The turrets on the Steiners are amazing! very tactile, positive and the transition from 1st to 2nd rev is arguably the nicest in the industry.

The OP is incorrect in stating the turrets on the 3-15 use a button detent to indicate the second rev. They are the same as the 5-25. the previous generation found on the 3-12 and 4-16 use the button detent.
