Nope, Jack is always making updates...(Sensitivity setting, RO walk through timer count down, etc.) but he keeps the design along the KISS principle.
PractiScore has walk trough timer built-in and it can even read stage briefing out loud for you. Not something I really need from a timer.
I've asked Jack several times to add the data link into RU Ready. Yet here we are... Maybe you'll have better luck.
I can picture the fit you'd take at an RO if he said "standby" and then the timer didn't go off because he couldn't figure out "instant mode" or he had to clear the last run before starting the timer for you again.
KISS principle works well at matches.
Meh, Sean. RO's get confused even with RU Ready. Ask me how many times I had to show them how to remove or reset the par time settings.
Things the data link adds to RO/RM and to competitors are invaluable. For practice and at the matches. Just out of the top of my head:
* verify if timer picked up extra shots several hours after stage was completed - arbitrate
* verify if timer hasn't picked up enough shots several hours after stage was completed - arbitrate
* drop extra shots picked up from another bay. Even several hours after
* verify number of shots at the stage or between reloads even several hours after (remember one of Canadian team members bumped to Open at WS?)
* have detailed data for your draw, reloads, movements, etc and compare shooters side by side using match data
* have complete history of your practice session at the range and slice and dice it later at home
Here is a picture from my last weekend practice just to scratch the surface
