Just bought my first shotgun, a 12 gauge Remington 870 and brought it with me to my country place to try out. Problem was I forgot the ammo, some 7 shot and had to buy some at the local store. They only had 3 shot and wow does that kick! I busted my shoulder (clavicle, surgery was 4 weeks ago, along with 4 ribs in a moto accident) so I shot it left shoulder first just to see the recoil and man, I'm glad I did!
How much less recoil is the 7 shot (both 3")? I would like to be able to shoot from my right shoulder but with the 3 shot I'll need several more weeks I'd say.
Also, can I fire 2 5/8th slugs out of this gun safely?
Thanks guys and sorry for the newbie questions.
