Shotgun barrel won't clean

Hi i've cleaned the barrel of my 12ga mossberg maverick shotgun but there seems to be one small piece of something that won't come out. I've tried with a bronze brush, putting a bunch of patches on it to make it as large as possible (and still able to get through the barrel) but nothing will make that small piece (of something ?) come out. I've attached pictures of the barrel where we can see the tiny thing in there.

Also how often should you get new bronze brushes ? And is the last patch suppose to come out perfectly clean? I've got an sks and a cooey and i've never managed to get a patch to come out 100% clean no matter how any i run though it... kinda desperate.

If anyone's got any suggestions, thanks !

the spot in your barrel could be plastic from the wad. the only way to clean it out is use Ed,s Red. it is a home made solvent that contains acetone and it will clean out the plastic.
if you use a bronze brush you will never get a perfectly clean patch. the solvent slowly eats the bronze brush and makes the patch dirty.
you should brush your rifle or shotgun with a bronze brush until you think it should be clean then switch to a nylon brush. the nylon brush will come out clean when the barrel is clean.

I never had a "clean" patch come out of my shotgun barrels .... and this after hours and hours of cleaning .... even with a drill and copper wool on a brush.

Sometimes ... there is clean enough ....

I would not worry about one little piece of something or imperfection in the barrel ..... just shoot it .... and continue to clean the barrel after each outing to the range.

If you really want to get 99% of fouling and deposits out of that barrel ..... use a drill with copper wool around a brush .... That is how I clean my shotgun smoothbore barrels nowadays.

Thanks for the tips, i'll look into it !

I don't get carried away with trying to clean shotgun barrels, I give them a spray of G96 Gun Treatment, and pull a bore snake through a couple of times after shooting clays, or hunting. I clean the bore snakes regularly, and only use a bronze brush now and then to remove wad fouling.

My shotgun barrels mostly get cleaned by shooting them! I clean the chambers and choke tubes occasionally but the barrels themselves don't get very dirty and almost never have any kind of buildup in them.
Don't sweat that whatever it is in your barrel, just go out and shoot it.

This is pretty much what I do as well.

Exactly. There's 'clean', and then there's 'clean enough'.

A heavy fouled barrel. I'll spray it with oil and give it a pass with the SS tornado brush. Other than that, just pass it a few times with the bore snake.
