Hello all, I have a buddy who just aquired a a Berreta Pigeon grade 12ga, currently it has a full choke and would like it cut so he can shoot steel this fall. Are there any gunsmiths around Wainwright area say within 500km?
Much obliged,

Open it up more than modified... improved cylinder or Skeet II would be much better.

Who ever does it will require a carbide tool as Berettas are chrome lined barrels.

Don't know about a gunsmith in your area, but guntech is right again open it to imp.cyl. or skeet II, don't have the barrel cut, have the choke opened up.

Which one? If it's an O/U, you want to take it to somebody who has lots of experience with them. It'd likely be a better idea to buy another set of barrels.

Buddy said it was a pump?

"...said it was a pump?..." Not a Pidgeon grade then. They're all O/U's now. Berretta used to make a Silver Pidgeon pump action though. Not that it matters.
Tell your buddy to have changeable chokes installed. It'd make his shotgun more versatile. Any shotgun smithy can do it. Cutting the barrel will give him no choke at all. If it has a rib, cutting it takes a smithy who knows how too. Not all ribs are attached over the whole length of the barrel. Some aren't metal either.
