I remember reading an article in the 70's where in some state you had to have your buckshot wired together for dear hunting. If I remember right they had to use 3 balls. So something similar to this.

The only thing cooler (and more illegal than this) are flechettes. When they described those in class my jaw dropped!

flechettes are over rated so are bolo rounds ive shot both and the flechettes seem to always hit on they're side and bolo rounds tend to break apart

Well that's disappointing.... Were the Bolo rounds you tried of a similar design to the ones in the video?

It seems like the cable would just pull out of the lead and not really serve it's function..

Did you watch the vid? It seemed like the cable was still there at, what was it, 40 yards... Looked nasty. Seems like if the cable pulled out that would be quite the design flaw. lol

the cable breaks when it hits the target the oringinal idea with bolo rounds was the cable would cut anything between the 2 round balls

Part of the cable was present on a PAPER target....

Find a video of that round being shot into Ballistics Jelly.

it will some times stay in one piece but hitting bone(or wood) will break that wire but then you still have 2 roughly .58 cal balls in the target

true. which is still significant
