Went there yesterday to see all the sales.

headed to the gun department, wow 7 people waiting to buy.

It was interesting listening to the people talk to each other .
you could plainly tell that these wanna be buyers didnt know a whole lot about shotguns.
You could also hear the "I'm worried about world events" tone in their voice.

In all the years I have shopped at CT I am generally the only one down the gun Isle.....not any more.

anyway,..they asked for my PAL,..then they took it to "verify" it......hmmm, OK then.

so there was a line up of people at the counter waiting for the salesman to come back with our Cards. It took only about 10 minutes.
Times are changing folks.

OH...what did I buy ??

this little guy- churchill 14" pump 12g Holds 5+1 kinda a 870 clone

I was looking on the EE for a used 12g,.. but the used prices have jumped,....so I got a good deal on a New one. $279

I have almost the same shotgun, just shot if for the first time today. The recoil pad will need Changing, otherwise it operates very well. due to the very light weight, I feel that 2 3/4" slugs feel like 3" magnums out of a "normal" shotgun. 1 oz 2 3/4" slugs @ 1,440 fps are tolerable, the federal 1 1/4" ones (that's 547 grains!) leaving the barrel at 1,290 feels like someone is hitting the eng of the barrel with a baseball bat.
They are really handy and I love the pump forearm, I can hold it nice and close to the receiver. The cerakote won't last though, it's already coming off the top of the bead sight.

when I took off the pistol handle and put the full stock on,..I filled the empty stock with Wood shavings and packed them Tight !
It felt to Light and Hollow. That took up a lot of the Recoil. the shavings absorb some of it.

I bought that shotgun as a candidate for a backpack gun so the light weight was key... It's not supposed to be a range gun, although it's very handy and fun to shoot with lighter loads, maybe I'll try your idea. Thanks!

Damn, our Canadian Tire stores in Ontario don't sell shotguns, only air-rifles. Great shotgun! Looks almost as good as the Canuck Commander gold edition that I scooped up! :)

Funny enough I've been looking at a few Turkish shotguns lately and bought one of these today from SFRC using their current FREEDOM sale code. :canadaFlag: :shotgun:

Most people don't realize how many shotguns on the market are actually made in Turkey.

Weatherby, Mossberg, Stoeger....lots of manufacturers with great reputations do so. They benefit from slightly cheaper labour, and centuries of production experience.

So when ATA, Armsan, Hatsan, Tri-Star, Churchill hit the market there were lots of Bubbas who said they were crap...then went out with their post 2000 Remington 870 express, or 887......

Trail BC CanTire has awesome firearm and related inventory.....a lot of well priced treasures like Norinco 308 crate of 1000 for $499!!!!!!
