shotgun for beginner trap/skeet 2000$ or less?

Less is much preferred, would be happy to spend 800-1200 if possible. If it can double as a hunting gun that's a big plus.

In your price range you will get an entry level o/u or an excellent semi-auto. Go with the semi-auto. A Beretta 391 Sporting would be my choice for a do-all gun. But shotguns are a personal thing and it's your gun not mine. So go to a store, pick up and handle an 1100, 391, Browning Gold, Winchester SX3 and select the one that feels best in your hands.

Bought my first shotgun a couple of weeks or so back. It's a Browning Silver Hunter 28". Took it out to the Mission and District Rod and Gun club last weekend. It handles/swings easily and cycles smoothly. If you hold it into your shoulder properly, you don't even notice any recoil (until the next day anyway....lol)....A BIG THANKS GOES OUT TO GILL!!! If you read this. He spent a good amount of time showing me the ropes for skeet, as well as the rules and tips on how to actually hit something.....lol,
Again, thank Gill.

I am new to the game as well having only shot 5 games of trap.

I borrowed a shotgun for the first two and then the postal strike was over and I finally got my Browning Maxus Sporting from Prophet River.

WELL WORTH THE WAIT!

Loved the look and it just fit.

Fit seems to be the most important aspect, so I would go and try some on for size.

Prophet River was very easy to deal with and no one could beat their price.
