it would be fun to have one of those. or the masterkey that kac has :)

btw what is the law on mounted shotguns like that?... prohib im assuming cuz of length? i haven't bothered looking before, but now i'm curious.

Duncan Long's earlier AR-15 books have a short section on hanging shotguns underneath an AR in the stlye of an M-203 grenade launcher. From Paladin Press I beleive.

I think the problem is mounting an 870 would require the removal of the stock. That would be 'modifying' it, and would make the shotty a prohib. Now, if someone MADE a shotgun to go under the M4, that would be fine.

The masterkey, by the way, was not designed to be used in CQB, it was designed to allow the CQB'er to open otherwise locked doors without having to put his gun down.

Hmmmm shotgun opens door and team moves in, If you need to shoot a bad guy right away use the shotgun and let the team kill the rest.

By making your gun heavy and bulky just makes you less effective

This is why no one uses this set up

Saw this old contraption in the vault at the Colt Canada plant.

Awwwwwwww you could take pics there! Damn been there 3 times and never new that. I guess I should stop checking out the girls that work there and start asking more questions lol.

It would be an interesting addition to a collection if you had the spare money. I would prefer to spend my limited fun funds on something more practical.

I think I see what you're saying here... But I don't think it would be a prohib, or even restricted. There's nothing to say you can't remove the original buttstock, and substitute something else. The AR15 would count towards the overall length, and the whole thing would over 26".

I think what you would end up with is a restricted AR15 with a non-restricted shotgun bolted to it - the shotgun technically having a overall length sufficient for non-restricted status. You would need two registration certificates and an ATT to take it to the range. As far as I know, there's nothing in the Firearms Act to say that you can't bolt two different guns together.

Somebody correct me if I'm talking sh*t here, but it seems pretty straightforward to me.
