Can any body recommend a good Gunsmith that understands Remington 11-87 shotguns? This one is at least 20 years old and has had thousands of rounds through it. Its been used by my family for Trap, Sporting Clays and hunting and it is now a single shot. It jams solid on the second shot and cleaning the gas works does nothing. The shell carrier has a notch worn in it and won't lift the next round to feed properly. Should I fix it or use it for a parts gun and get another one?

Thanks

Here is a link to the "1100 Notes" that I helped Gene Batchelar put together some years back. It has a wealth of 1100 information there. My understanding is that the mag tube on the 1100 will last about 250,000 rounds and when it breaks, you are better off to scrap it and sell off the parts. Other than that, you should be able to fix what is broken for less than the cost of replacing it.
