I have a vintage Stevens 77b 12 ga on which I would like to install a barrel heat shield.

My problem is that i dont know what could fit without modifications. Since its a vintage gun , I doubt there is one specifically made for that model.

Can anyone tell me if there is one model that could be fitted on it so I know what to start with ?

Thanks !

I was thinking about a military style one with a bayonet lug. I know Numrich has some roproduction for the winchester trench gun. do you think it could fit ?

It should, the Winchester heat shield was generically sized for the Stevens and Savage and most of the trench guns of the time.

Anything can be made to fit, either with an adapter or sleeve if there’s clearance, or modification of one or both parts of there is interference. Chances that is drops right on and is usable without any work is low, but could happen.

The Numrich bayonet lug/heat shield may or may not work. I installed one on a Stevens 520a and it required machining to be able to fit over the barrel properly. East Taylor makes them for all trench guns and clones. You'll pay more but it'll fit
