So I have a older side lock hammerless 10 gauge I took apart to clean. All I did was take the butt stock and foregrip off. Now I cannot get the foregrip back on...there appears to be a pin that is blocking the grip from fully engaging with the action. Also when I break open the barrels they will not set the triggers...

Any thoughts??? Il try to post a picture later today.

Last one is the start of my gun room :)

Usually there are cocking levers which protrude from the action. When the gun is opened, these #### the hammers. The levers engage the forend iron. The action will need to be cocked when the forend is re-installed. You will have to #### the hammers with the barrels off. You should be able to examine the cocking levers, and determine how they should be moved to #### the hammers. Once cocked, the forend will go on, and the action will work normally.

This is hammerless, and I did not take the action off the barrels, all I can think is when I was cleaning it I did set off the triggers, and now this pin I blocking me from reinstalling the fore grip. Is it possible for me to manually set the triggers ?

:needPics: otherwise we can not help you.
I missed something too, did you mention the make and model of the gun in question.
Sometimes us guys need pictures to understand the problem or we turn to the instructions, but for a SXS 10 gauge I m pretty certain there are no
available instructions you may have...( paper instructions that is )
Not trying to be a smartazz, just offering a work around to your troubles at the moment.

You may think it is hammer less but there are hammers... and it sounds like one of them is in the fired position...

UPDATE -
I took the shotgun apart farther, including the internal hammers. I now have the pin moving and the forgrip can install, i just need to compress the hammer springs enough to get the pin back in place to hold them...

You can do this with a wooden wedge and small drift punch the same dia as the pin . Check out jack rowe master gunsmith on youtube . Look for his video on boxlock shotguns . He explanes the full process and shows how to make a tool for setting the springs. Hope this helps
