One of my friends wants to put a scope on his new cantilever barrel (got it for him from a good member of GunNutz).
He wants an illuminated reticle.
Do you know of a scope capable of sustaining slug load recoil and still be affordable?
PP.

$220 will get you a Bushnell Trophy T dot illuminated red dot scope. No magnification, lifetime warranty. You can see them at Cabellas.

The Bushnell T-Dot almost destroyed the aluminum bases on my slug-gun. I'm talking about one broken and one bent screw. The square notch in the base got rounded. It is a heavy scope and the slug gun recoil is huge.
Go for the lightest scope you can find.
Oh yeah, I'm still using the t-dot :D

I don't know how sold he is on the illuminated reticle, but my choice would be a fixed low power Leupold. The light gathering abilities of these scopes makes the illuminated reticle redundant. If he is concerned with loosing a fine cross hair against a dark background, have the reticle changed to a German #1.
