Shotgun recognition help!!!!

Hi all,

I have an older looking Stevens shotgun, model 59-A, Savage Arms Corp .410 Bore Proof tested...21/2 & 3 inch shells, with a tube magazine.

What is this shotgun used for: hunting birds etc....? and is there any value on this. If so what could I possibly sell it for on the forum? Any comments and suggestions would be very appreciated.

That shotgun was made from 1934 to1974 and was sold for $70 when it was new (1983 prices).

The 410 is handy at close range for grouse and hares (in my experience). Your shotgun if in working condition is a shooter and worth at best $50 if you can get it.

Bolt action shotguns are not popular.
